Job DescriptionAs a Senior Director Materials Management here at Honeywell, you will lead the strategic oversight and execution of the entire materials management function within our Industrial Automation business. You will drive supply chain excellence by optimizing procurement, inventory, and logistics to ensure seamless material availability that supports production and operational goals.
You will report directly to the VP ISC and you'll work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will significantly impact operational efficiency and cost management by ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials critical to production. Your leadership will enhance supply chain resilience and contribute to the overall success and competitiveness of the Industrial Automation business unit.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and implement comprehensive materials management strategies that align with the Industrial Automation business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, finance, and procurement teams to forecast demand, plan procurement, and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Oversee inventory management to minimize excess and obsolete stock while ensuring material availability meets production schedules.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and cost control to secure reliable and cost-effective supply chains.
- Ensure efficient and timely transportation and logistics of materials to support production and operational needs.
- Identify and implement process improvements leveraging technology and industry best practices to enhance materials management efficiency.
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE- Extensive experience (15 plus years) in leadership materials management, procurement, and logistics with proven success in optimizing supply chain operations.
- Strong expertise in managing complex supply chains within industrial or automation sectors, including demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
- Proficiency with materials management software and ERP systems to drive data-driven decision making and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely material supply.
WE VALUE- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience leading large teams and driving transformational change within materials management or supply chain organizations.
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and logistics management in an industrial automation environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
