Senior Buyer
Location: Beverly, MA (Hybrid)
Reports to: Supply Chain Optimization Manager
Travel Required: Yes
From RFQs to delivery - own the buying that keeps the factory running.
What You’ll Do:
Review and analyze purchase requisitions; generate RFQs and execute purchase orders for assigned suppliers
Manage purchase order delivery schedules to support manufacturing and operational plans
Maintain accuracy and integrity of procurement and supplier data within ERP and supply chain management systems
Monitor cost, delivery performance, and quality for assigned parts and suppliers to ensure optimal value and quality
Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements; manage purchase price variance (PPV) against standard cost
Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities, including identifying new suppliers, volume procurement discount opportunities and tariff mitigation. Utilize total cost analysis to deliver cost reductions.
Identify new supply sources when existing suppliers are no longer competitive, do not meet performance requirements or present supply risks.
Evaluate and recommend cost-saving initiatives such as alternative sourcing and make‑versus‑buy decisions
Partner with Quality to resolve supplier quality and performance issues
Collaborate with management on commodity strategies, provide market trend analysis, develop pricing strategies, and address supplier supplier capacity and other delivery risks.
Maintain domestic and/or global commodity expertise; support supplier visits and sourcing activities as required
Travel domestically and internationally to meet with suppliers and potential new suppliers may be required.
What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
Experience managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and supporting manufacturing environments
Global sourcing experience and commodity expertise preferred
U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE
$98,703.12 - $148,054.68
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on
multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work
location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as
you develop within the role.
Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the
Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular
employees working 20+ hours a week).
