Full Job Description
Mettler-Toledo Rainin is looking for a Production Planner to join our Planning Team in our Oakland, CA facility. The Production Planner is responsible for all planning in their value chain, including the planning and release of production orders in accordance with material requirements planning recommendations, while adjusting for departmental constraints and material availability. The responsibilities are as follows:

  • Managing and interpreting the MRP workbench and applicable planning information to create and monitor discrete jobs for assigned product families.
  • Actively participate and support the production planning SQDC meetings, providing detailed updates and plan status.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within assigned teams and with all departments.
  • Evaluating work centers for capacity optimization.
  • Assessing and scheduling production orders with manufacturing departmental input.
  • Releasing production orders to the appropriate production areas with complete material availability.
  • Reviewing and analyzing production orders that have missing component material.
  • Resolving missing components with Procurement and other internal associates.
  • Maintaining accurate start and completion dates on production orders.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of inventory management and supporting the accurate forecasting of future demand.


What You Need to Succeed

  • Comprehensive understanding of material and demand planning.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, SAP preferred.
  • Knowledgeable on lean manufacturing concepts and demonstrated ability to apply to the position.
  • Familiar with common Root Cause Analysis tools
  • Analytical ability to run ad hoc reports and interpret data set.
  • Effective communication skills, oral and written, and ability to present information effectively to a cross functional audience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline, or minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
