Job Description Summary
Lead the development and implementation of credit policies, strategies, products and capabilities that support responsible acquisition and business growth while maintaining alignment with TDMS Credit Policy, TD risk appetite and applicable governance requirements. The role provides deep credit policy and strategy expertise, identifies opportunities to use credit as a growth enabler, and leads strategic initiatives from concept and policy design through implementation and performance monitoring.
Key Accountabilities
Credit Policy & Risk Strategy
• Lead and support the development, maintenance and ongoing evolution of TDMS Credit Policy, ensuring policy remains current and aligned with risk appetite, business strategy, portfolio performance and regulatory expectations.
• Identify and recommend policy changes required to enable new products, acquisition strategies, customer segments and credit capabilities, partnering with Commercial Credit Risk Management (CCRM) on policy updates and required risk reviews.
• Develop credit eligibility, underwriting and decisioning strategies, including risk parameters, exposure thresholds, limits, segmentation, approval criteria, renewal requirements and concentration controls.
• Assess existing credit policies and strategies and recommend enhancements based on portfolio results, emerging risks, market developments, and changing business needs.
• Act as a Credit Policy and Strategy subject matter expert, providing advice, effective challenge and clear recommendations on complex credit and business initiatives.
• Ensure new and existing strategies include appropriate controls, governance, monitoring, escalation thresholds, and performance measures.
Growth, Acquisition & Product Strategy
• Lead the development of new credit-enabled products and growth strategies that support merchant acquisition, relationship expansion, and retention.
• Design acquisition and risk strategies, including pre-approved offers, merchant financing concepts, credit product offerings, segmentation and other targeted growth opportunities.
• Translate business opportunities into executable credit strategies, policy requirements, eligibility criteria and risk frameworks that appropriately balance growth, customer experience and credit risk.
• Develop strategic recommendations and business cases that evaluate market opportunities, customer value, financial considerations, policy impacts, credit risk and implementation requirements, translating complex issues into clear choices for leadership.
• Partner with Business Banking, Product, Sales, Risk and Analytics to identify opportunities to use customer, credit, cashflow and merchant-processing information to support targeted offers and underwriting strategies.
• Monitor credit, economic, competitive, and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities and inform the evolution of TDMS products, policies, and strategies.
Project & Implementation Leadership
• Lead credit policy, strategy and product initiatives from concept through implementation, establishing clear scope, outcomes, requirements, milestones, dependencies and success measures.
• Translate policy and strategy intent into clear business requirements and partner with internal partners such as Product, Sales, Technology, Operations, Analytics and Risk as well as external vendor relationships to implement effective solutions.
• Coordinate cross-functional workstreams and stakeholders to ensure initiatives are delivered in accordance with approved strategy, policy, regulatory controls and risk parameters.
• Identify and resolve policy, risk, product and delivery issues, escalating material matters and recommending practical mitigation strategies where required.
• Support testing, implementation readiness, approvals and post-launch monitoring to confirm new strategies and products operate as intended.
• Manage multiple strategic initiatives while maintaining strong execution discipline, governance, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
Stakeholder Partnership & Thought Leadership
• Build strong relationships across Credit Risk, Commercial Credit Risk Management (CCRM), Business Banking, Product, Sales, Operations, Analytics, Technology, Finance, Legal and Compliance, as well as external partners including Fiserv.

• Bring external and internal credit knowledge to the team, challenge existing approaches constructively, and identify opportunities to strengthen TDMS credit capabilities.
• Share knowledge and contribute to the development of credit policy and strategy expertise across the team and broader business.
Job Requirements
