Job Summary The Product Line Manager, Money Services serves as the business owner for Populus Financial Group's Money Services portfolio - including bill pay, money orders, wire transfers, and emerging money-movement solutions - responsible for driving growth, optimizing vendor partnerships, and identifying innovative opportunities that enhance customer value and business performance. This role leads the strategy, performance, and long-term evolution of the product line while maintaining strategic oversight of the check cashing business as a core, high-volume service.
Working closely with vendor partners, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, Analytics, and Technology, this leader is accountable for maximizing portfolio performance through partnership optimization, growth strategies, customer-focused innovation, and operational excellence. This is not a traditional, delivery-focused product role; it is a portfolio leadership role centered on business growth, strategic partnerships, and developing the future of Money Services.
Major ResponsibilitiesStrategic Partnerships & Vendor Management- Own all Money Services vendor relationships, including business reviews, scorecards, negotiations, and growth planning.
- Evaluate new partnerships, technologies, and service offerings, and optimize existing partnerships to improve financial and customer outcomes.
Money Services Portfolio Growth & Performance- Own the growth, performance, and long-term strategy of the Money Services portfolio, building business cases and multi-year growth plans.
- Grow transaction volume, revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and product adoption using customer, operational, and financial insights.
- Maintain strategic oversight of the check cashing business, protecting current revenue while prioritizing Money Services for growth.
Innovation & New Business Development- Monitor emerging trends in fintech, payments, and alternative financial services; lead pilots, tests, and new product introductions.
Commercialization & Cross-Functional Leadership- Partner across Operations, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, Analytics, and Technology to develop launch and commercialization strategies.
- Present recommendations and portfolio performance to senior leadership.
Financial & Business Management- Monitor revenue, profitability, transaction trends, and portfolio KPIs; support planning, forecasting, budgeting, and investment decisions.
