Own the product line. Shape the market. Keep legendary compressors running. Some of the most trusted compressors in natural gas have been running since before most of us were born. Who keeps them running for the next 50 years? You do.
Cooper Machinery Services has been building legendary machines since 1833, and our installed base of 22,000 units still moves gas around the world. As Product Development Manager for Slow Speed and Legacy Gas Compressors, you will own the product line from end to end: which upgrades to push, which parts to stock, which customers to win, and how our sales team takes it to market.
This is a role for a compressor person who also likes to sell. You'll work in the field with customers, partner with Sales on real deals, and carry accountability for the product line's top-line targets. Your market insight will turn directly into product decisions.
What You Will Do- Identify and prioritize compressor upgrades, conversions, parts sales and overhauls across the installed fleet, and map customers to the right products
- Build relationships with top customers interested in Cooper OEM and OEM+ (non-Cooper) products
- Partner with Account Managers to develop and close opportunities, and engage directly with end users where it makes sense
- Analyze products and the competition (including SWOT analysis) to sharpen our position, and bring forward new product ideas based on market and regulatory trends
- Identify high-failure and high-volume parts to stock, recommend stocking levels, and flag parts for engineering-supported improvement
- Train and develop our sales team to sell Slow Speed and Legacy Gas Compressor products and services, and create sales playbooks by product
- Develop pricing plans and discount/multiplier structures with the Pricing team for key customers and products
- Qualify and scope opportunities, and give the ACI Applications Team complete RFQ inputs (frame/cylinder ID, gas analysis, operating conditions) to speed up proposals
- Define lifecycle strategy for the product line and collaborate with third-party service companies to complement our offerings
- Share accountability with Sales for the product line's top-line targets
