Full Job Description

About the Team

The Platform Marketing team drives the strategy and go-to-market for establishing Workday as a platform company.. Our team owns the narrative that connects Workday's platform capabilities (AI, agent governance, developer tooling, integrations, security, extensibility) into a single, coherent story for technical executives, analysts, and the market. We partner closely with Product Management, DevRel, Field Marketing, and Sales to ensure Workday's platform story is consistent, credible, and lands everywhere it shows up.

About the Role

As a senior Product Marketing Manager on the Platform Marketing team, you’ll drive and evolve Workday's platform narrative for the audience that decides whether Workday is a strategic bet or a point solution: CIOs, CTOs, and the analysts who cover them.

You will work to deeply understand the challenges and motivations facing these audiences and translate Workday’s evolving platform and technical solutions into a narrative. This requires fluency with platform products and technical IT personas so the narrative. Success in this role will be measured through impact across narrative adoption, market perception, and field effectiveness. Example outcomes include:

  • Driving measurable increases in cross-platform engagement and land-and-expand motions

  • Establishing and strengthening Workday's platform position with technical executives and industry analysts — reflected in analyst report placement and tone, executive share-of-voice, and thought leadership visibility with CIO/CTO audiences.

  • Equip leadership, field marketing, sellers, and outbound teams to deliver the platform narrative with confidence

You will be responsible for:

1. CIO/CTO-facing Platform narratives & positioning. Translate platform strategy into positioning and messaging built for CIOs and CTOs, driving development of the core Platform narrative, establishing how AI, developer tooling, integrations, security, and other platform capabilities connect into a coherent story.

2. Market, Competitive & Analyst Intelligence. Conduct ongoing market, competitive, and customer research to understand the challenges facing CIOs and CTOs. Drive analyst relations for the platform story, ensuring Workday's positioning holds up under analyst scrutiny and is reflected accurately in coverage.

3. Cross-Functional GTM Orchestration. Partner across global marketing (campaigns, events, comms, field enablement) to weave the platform narrative consistently into everything customer- and market-facing. Align with Product Marketing peers, Product Management, DevRel, Field Marketing, Sellers, and Analysts so the platform story stays coherent across every audience it reaches.

4. Field & Leadership Enablement. Build the tools, narratives, and use cases that let sellers and executives tell the platform story credibly to prospects and customers. Track where the narrative is (and isn't) landing, and iterate based on field and market feedback.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years in product or platform marketing, with a track record of owning executive-level narrative and positioning across a portfolio or platform rather than a single product.

  • Genuine familiarity with platform products and technical IT buyer personas; comfortable enough with the technical substance of AI, developer tooling, integration, and security to hold a credible conversation with a CTO, even without hands-on engineering depth. Familiarity with developer personas and AI platform products is a strong plus.

  • Skilled at cross-functional orchestration without formal authority: able to align Product Marketing, Product Management, DevRel, Field Marketing, and Sellers around one narrative, and keep that alignment on track as the narrative and priorities shift.

  • Strong executive presence and communication: trusted to represent the platform story to senior product and company leadership, genuinely curious about where the platform story needs to evolve next, and proactive about closing gaps.

Other Qualifications

  • Familiarity with developer personas and AI platform products is a strong plus

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
