About the Clinical Laboratories- 2.5M+ tests annually with significant complexity and diversity.
- Ten subspecialty divisions led by experienced MD/PhD scientists, including Hematology, Special Coagulation, Molecular Diagnostics, Transfusion Medicine, Immunogenetics, Microbiology, Chemistry, and more.
- Advanced capabilities including high-throughput molecular platforms, next-generation sequencing, MALDI-TOF, and fully automated chemistry technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide systemwide leadership and oversight for all areas of clinical pathology.
- Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance across all TUHS laboratories (JCAHO, CAP, FDA, CMS, OSHA) and lead system wide inspections.
- Drive alignment, standardization, and integration across multiple campuses.
- Partner with the Chair to establish strategic priorities and capital plans.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Support education, training, and professional development within a major academic medical center.
Candidate Qualifications- MD, DO, or MD/PhD (or equivalent).
- Board Certification in Clinical Pathology.
- Academic credentials for appointment at Associate or Full Professor.
- ≥5 years of leadership experience in academic or high-complexity laboratories.
- Strong preference for expertise in Hematopathology or Transfusion Medicine.
- Demonstrated success leading within multi-site, matrixed environments.
- Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical licensure.
