Full Job Description
Job Summary:

Reporting to the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner, who is considered an Advanced Practiced Provider (APP), is responsible for providing primary care medical services, within the scope of expertise for which he/she is licensed and certified, to the patients of RRHC.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner will perform the following duties:

Diagnose and treat routine patient medical problems across all age groups;

Utilize in-clinic referral system to other primary care, prenatal, wellness practitioners and support services;

Utilize out-of-clinic referral network for patients for specialized services;

Review patient charts and discuss cases with the physician collaborator and/or Medical Director;

Prepare complete and accurate medical records, which includes relevant coding for all services for legal, clinical and payor compliance, for each patient, in accordance with RRHC's medical policies;

Order, collect and interpret patient lab work and diagnostic studies;

Dispense prescription drugs. Including Schedule lll controlled substances and devices, in accordance with RRHC's medical policies;

Order therapies such as occupational, speech, physical therapy and psychological counseling;

Participates in CQI and HRSA 330 mandated performance requirements;

Participates in off-site meetings, community events, staff meetings, training, workshops and conferences;

Serve as a consultant to the Dental and Behavioral Health departments;

Knowledge and adherence to safety and conduct rules, other regulations and the policies and procedures of Redwoods Rural Health Center.

Attend regular chart and case review sessions with all concerned clinic staff.;

Adhere to professional and ethical standards of patient care, safety and conduct rules and other regulations, policies and procedures set by RRHC;

Other duties as assigned.

Licensure & Credentialing:

Holder of valid California license as a Registered Nurse;

Certification by the State of California, Board of Registered Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner;

Holder of a valid Furnishing Number after meeting the hours required by the Board of Registered Nursing;

Unrestricted California Medical license;

Unrestricted DEA license;

Current CPR (ACLS) certifications;

Board Eligible in Family Practice.

Education:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a U.S. accredited residency program;

Successful completion of a family practice residence, within an accredited U.S residency program.

Qualifications:

At least 5 years' comprehensive experience of primary health care in an outpatient setting desired, but willing to train new graduates;

Proficiency with the principles and practice of modern medicine, as related to public health organizations and community health programs;

Comprehensive understanding of current social and economic problems pertaining to public health and their impact on healthcare;

Demonstrated skills in culturally sensitive human interactions;

Astute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Spanish speaker, a plus;

Exceptional time management, organizational, accuracy, multi-tasking, attention to detail, problem-solving and follow-through skills;

Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment;

Valid CA driver's license, clean and insurable driving record and reliable transportation to work.

Compensation:

$134,754 - $180,000 annual base salary, DOE, for this full-time, exempt position.

403(b) retirement plan with an annual 4% company match, which vests 100% on start date;

12 days of annual paid vacation time during years 0 - 3, accrued at 0.04615 per hour and increasing incrementally thereafter;

50 hours of annual paid sick time allotted on start date and annually on the anniversary date;

8 annual paid holidays;

Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with the organization paying a generous portion of employee and dependent premiums; eligibility to enroll following 60 days of employment.
