Responsibilities

  • Participate in Quality Improvement meetings and serve as a team leader
  • Assist in developing QI/PI programs with Nurse Educator and CNO
  • Help identify workflow issues to improve process and quality outcomes

Full Job Description
Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer

Supervises: Nursing: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses,

Medical Assistants, Clinical Case Managers (led by CNO)

Salary/Status: Exempt

Minimum Requirements:
  • Massachusetts licensure as an RN
  • ASN required - BSN preferred
  • 3-5 years in health care setting
  • Supervisory experience with nursing teams, case managers, and professional staff
  • Leadership experience in community-based care/primary care
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to present cases at interagency meetings and to represent CHC with employees, representatives of outside agencies, and the general public
  • Ability to function independently, consulting with clinical and non-clinical staff, prioritizing job responsibilities and helping those involved in common projects to achieve milestones according to project time-lines
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Quality and Performance Improvement Concepts, methodologies, and activities
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills
  • Reliable and professional in behavior and appearance
  • Community Health Center or Physician office experience required
  • Strong interest in addressing the health care needs of low income or medically underserved populations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Supervise nursing staff including RN, LPN, MA, and Case Managers (in conjunction with the CNO)
  • Directs and participates in patient care activities (as needed) by ensuring compliance with standards of care
  • Guides and evaluates clinical staff practices, monitors quality and productivity within areas of responsibility and corrects or modifies deficiencies as appropriate
  • Monitors and maintains responsible staffing patterns, coordinates and cooperates with other CHC Managers to ensure nursing coverage for all Caring Health Center sites
  • Along with other Clinical Leaders, reviews and updates triaging protocols
  • Conducts regular performance evaluation of staff, recommends promotion and incentives or disciplinary action on staff members whenever appropriate to CNO
  • Cooperates in implementing administrative initiatives such as those related to ensuring capture of all revenues/billings, site audits by commercial insurers or government agencies and regular staff training for compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA)
  • Meets regularly with CNO and with Leads in department on matters relevant to scope of responsibilities
  • Participates in monthly Quality Improvement meetings, activities, and serves as team leader
  • Assists in development of QI/PI and Risk Management programs and related measurement tools with Nurse Educator and CNO
  • Assists with identification and structure of work flow issues as they relate to improved process and increased quality outcomes
  • Assists in reporting of data and monitoring to Federal, state, Local and/or funders as needed
  • Participates with Nurse Educator and CNO to direct training for compliance with regulatory requirements, health education, and prevention services to staff
  • Participates with Nurse Educator and CNO in the proper planning of orientation for new employees
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

This position requires light physical effort. Requires handling of objects up to 10 pounds or some standing and walking.

This position requires the ability to use a computer workstation, viewing a CRT and operating a keyboard

This position requires the ability to work long and arduous hours from time to time.

***Salary range*** $100,000-$110,000
