Your Mission
Blizzard Entertainment is assembling a team to build the next chapter of StarCraft, returning to a universe forged in interstellar war. This mission offers something new: crafting an original story-driven, open-world shooter while honoring the legacy of one of Blizzard's most beloved games.

We are looking for a Designer to help craft this new game for Blizzard. As a member of the development team, you will design and implement engaging missions and locations that support gameplay, narrative, and player experience. You are comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, navigating fluid deadlines and changing priorities with purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement missions and locations that align with gameplay goals and narrative direction.


  • Integrate gameplay mechanics, combat encounters, and challenges to support engaging player experiences.


  • Collaborate with design, art, engineering, audio, animation, and VFX to deliver cohesive gameplay experiences.


  • Prototype and iterate on mission content in-engine, incorporating feedback to improve quality.


  • Contribute to short- and long-term deliverables, supporting features from concept through implementation.


  • Apply problem-solving skills to moderately complex design challenges, working with team members to resolve issues.


Minimum Requirements (Experience, Knowledge & Skills)

  • 5+ years of experience designing missions, quests, or level-based gameplay, or equivalent experience.


  • Experience contributing to shipped game titles.


  • Solid understanding of mission design, level layout, and gameplay systems integration.


  • Experience with technical design, scripting, and implementation in modern game engines (e.g., Unreal).


  • Ability to work with general direction and manage day-to-day tasks independently.


  • Experience collaborating across disciplines in a development environment.


  • Strong spatial design skills and understanding of player navigation and flow.


  • Ability to solve problems of moderate scope using established tools and techniques.


  • A team-oriented approach and commitment to collaborative development.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $30.47 - $56.35 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location.
