Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineering (PE or P.Eng) license required
• Experience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings
• Proficient in MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software
• Previous experience with architectural/engineering or consulting firms
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture
• Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis preferred
• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred, particularly in Healthcare, Science and Technology, or Civic facilities

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical design team during schematic design and contract phases
• Establish and participate in code compliance meetings with governing agencies
• Manage workload to ensure timely document completion
• Conduct site work sessions with Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams
• Review mechanical documents for coordination conflicts
• Write and edit mechanical specifications, select equipment and systems
• Assist with addenda, RFIs, and change orders, incorporating agreed changes
• Provide construction contract administration as needed
• Perform QA/QC on work from other mechanical team members
