Job Overview & ResponsibilitiesAs a Master Production Scheduler at ULA's Decatur, AL, key responsibilities include:
- Oversees the scheduling of all aspects of a project, including tasks, resources, and deadlines.
- Prepare schedules for production work and performs and/or assists in schedule analyses such as critical path, schedule margin, and variance analysis, negative float resolution, and schedule integration/risk assessment as desired.
- Coordinates routinely with engineering on changes, span times, and process flows.
- Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
- Responsible for scheduling production and meeting deadlines.
- Develop and deliver periodic and ad hoc reporting and analysis supporting management decision making and performance measurement.
- Preparing program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled.
- Resolving issues that could potentially impact schedule adherence.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to improve scheduling efficiency.
Required EducationBachelor
Required Years of ExperienceMinimum of 6 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduling in a production environment.
- Proficiency in the MS Office software suite and the ability to quickly learn other tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Analytical and problem solving skills; thinks independently.
- Applies conventional approaches to resolve moderately complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications- Deep knowledge of MRP logic, BOM structures, routings, production lead times, and constraints.
- Competence using Excel or other analytical tools for data modeling, scenario planning, and KPI tracking.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow planning.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage scheduling conflicts with a structured decision-making approach.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in schedule execution.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze root causes of schedule disruptions.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and operate with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Microsoft Project, Dassien).
