Full Job Description
Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Market Fundamentals Advisor in Dallas, TX. This person will provide data-driven analysis to develop competitive stances in Refining, Renewables, Midstream, and Branded Fuels markets to support business opportunities across the Commercial Organization.

Job Duties

  • Support company's short-, medium- and long-term strategy development by providing fundamentals-based market outlooks ranging from regional to global across various commodities
  • Assist in Executive Leadership materials preparation for Board of Directors and Investor Relations
  • Determine market price setting mechanisms for use in the company's short-, medium- and long-term pricing forecasts
  • Perform scenario analysis around market supply/demand balances and cost variables to predict incremental and average barrel refining margins
  • Build and oversee maintenance of models covering crude basin and product market supply/demand balances
  • Develop margin supply stacks for markets to understand competitive position of HF Sinclair assets as well as peers

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of five to eight years of related on-the-job experience required.

Preferred Experience

Experience in refining analytics, economics and planning, renewables market analysis, petroleum market fundamentals and knowledge of refinery operations are highly preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, economics, accounting or finance.

Required Skills

Basic understanding of energy or commodity markets. Familiarity with statistical analysis methods, forecasting techniques, and predictive modeling. Excellent proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Detail oriented with strong working knowledge of Microsoft products, Excel and PowerPoint in particular. Ability to perform intermediate level mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May be required to provide work direction to entry level financial analysts.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel required up to 10% by land and air with occasional visits into a refinery environment. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
