How you will make history here...

The Manager, Engineering & Maintenance provides strategic and operational leadership for the site's Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, and Capital Project functions. This role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, technical capability, manufacturing capacity, productivity, and long-term asset performance.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the sites maintenance organization and a team of technical engineering resources while managing external engineering partners, equipment suppliers, and contractors. The position oversees an annual capital investment budget of up to $20 million and ensures projects are safely delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives.

This leader will establish a strong Total Productive Maintenance culture, develop the site's technical strategy, strengthen mechanical and electrical capability, and partner across Operations, Quality, Safety, Distribution, and Finance to improve overall plant performance.

What you will do...

Engineering and Capital Project Leadership

Develop and execute the site's multi-year capital investment and technical improvement strategy.

Manage an annual capital budget of up to $20 million, including project justification, forecasting, cost control, risk management, and financial closeout.

Lead capital projects from concept through design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and operational handoff.

Provide leadership and technical direction to a team of three engineering and technical resources.

Select and manage engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, construction contractors, and other external technical partners.

Ensure projects meet established safety, food safety, quality, schedule, performance, and financial requirements.

Identify and implement productivity, capacity, automation, infrastructure, and cost-reduction opportunities.

Maintenance and Reliability Leadership

Lead the site maintenance organization and establish clear performance expectations, priorities, and accountability.

Develop and execute the site's Total Productive Maintenance and equipment reliability strategy.

Advance preventive, predictive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance practices.

Improve asset reliability, equipment availability, maintenance planning and scheduling, spare-parts management, and technical documentation.

Strengthen mechanical, electrical, controls, and troubleshooting capabilities across the maintenance team.

Lead root-cause analysis and corrective-action efforts for equipment failures and recurring losses.

Establish maintenance staffing, training, and succession plans that support current and future operational needs.

Strategic and Cross-Functional Leadership

Serve as the site's senior technical leader and primary advisor on equipment, infrastructure, utilities, automation, and engineering matters.

Partner with Operations to prioritize reliability, productivity, and capacity initiatives

Develop and manage maintenance expense budgets, capital forecasts, productivity plans, and technical performance metrics.

Lead major shutdowns, equipment installations, commissioning activities, and other high-risk technical work.

Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with company standards and applicable safety, environmental, food safety, and regulatory requirements.

Build a culture of ownership, technical discipline, continuous improvement, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

What you bring to the table (must haves)...
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Eight or more years of progressive engineering, maintenance, reliability, or technical leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.


It would be great to have (nice to haves)...
  • Demonstrated experience leading both engineering projects and maintenance or reliability programs.
  • At least three years of experience managing capital projects, including scope, budget, schedule, contractors, commissioning, and operational handoff.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, utilities, and industrial manufacturing systems.
  • Experience leading and developing salaried technical professionals and hourly maintenance teams.
  • Demonstrated success implementing TPM, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and equipment reliability practices.
  • Experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated Six Sigma problem-solving experience.
  • PMP, CMRP, SMRP, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience managing a capital portfolio of $10 million or more annually.
  • Knowledge of automation, process controls, computerized maintenance management systems, and reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Strong communication, change leadership, contractor management, and cross-functional influencing skills.


Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$120,300-$165,400

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
