The Business Development Manager - Key Accounts Canada is responsible for strengthening McCain's position with priority Ontario-based key account customers by developing strategic customer plans, identifying growth opportunities, and coordinating cross-functional resources to deliver profitable sales growth. This role will drive the sale of McCain Potato and Prepared Foods products while building strong customer relationships, leading strategic initiatives, and managing all aspects of the sales process to achieve business objectives.
What you'll be doing.- Deliver volume, revenue, and profitability targets across assigned key account customers.
- Build and execute strategic customer growth plans that identify opportunities for expansion and long-term partnership.
- Utilize a consultative selling approach to understand customer needs and align internal resources, including Marketing, R&D, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across purchasing, supply chain, marketing, quality assurance, senior leadership, and other customer functions.
- Generate and manage a robust sales pipeline, including new business opportunities, account expansion, and custom product development initiatives.
- Create and deliver impactful customer presentations, business reviews, and category insights that support profitable growth and strengthen customer partnerships.
- Accurately forecast monthly sales volumes using customer insights, market data, and historical trends.
- Manage contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and RFP processes to deliver optimal business outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, wins, and losses through Salesforce.
- Represent McCain at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events while acting as a trusted brand ambassador.
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, drive execution, and achieve shared goals.
- Manage budgets responsibly and optimize investments to maximize return on investment.
What you'll need to be successful.- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience within the foodservice industry preferred
- Marketing experience is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated success managing key accounts and delivering profitable sales growth.
- Experience developing customer strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing complex sales cycles.
- Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of customer and internal organizations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience utilizing Salesforce or other CRM systems.
- Curiosity and willingness to leverage AI-enabled tools and digital technologies to improve performance and customer outcomes.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Required travel around 15 - 20% within the Ontario Territory
About the team.The Business Development Manager is part of the Foodservice Sales team and plays a critical role in driving growth across priority Ontario-based key accounts. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, and Quality Assurance to deliver customer-focused solutions and execute strategic growth initiatives. Success in this position requires strong collaboration, customer focus, and a commitment to delivering exceptional business results.
Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
