We are looking for a
strategic, collaborative, and proactive Legal Lead, Rare & Epilepsy U.S to join our
Ethics & Legal Affairs team, this hybrid position is based in our
Smyrna, Georgia office in the United States.
About the role As Legal Lead, Rare & Epilepsy U.S., you will provide trusted legal counsel supporting the commercialization and launch of innovative therapies within UCB's Rare & Epilepsy portfolio. You will partner closely with commercial, medical, regulatory, and compliance teams to deliver practical legal guidance that supports business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role offers significant exposure to senior leaders and the opportunity to influence strategic business decisions.
Who you'll work with You will be working in a team that partners across the organization to support UCB's Rare & Epilepsy business. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in sales, marketing, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, compliance, and commercial operations, while working alongside the U.S. Rare & Epilepsy Legal team, broader U.S. legal organization, and global legal colleagues. This role reports to the Head of Rare & Epilepsy Legal, Global.
What you'll do - Provide legal counsel supporting Rare & Epilepsy commercial and medical teams
- Advise on product launch strategies and commercialization activities
- Counsel stakeholders on advertising, promotion, and regulatory compliance matters
- Provide guidance regarding healthcare fraud and abuse considerations
- Manage complex legal matters across Rare & Epilepsy business activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve business objectives
Interested? For this role we're looking for the following Minimum Requirements - Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school
- Active state bar admission and good standing
- 3+ years' experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare law
- Strong analytical skills and complex issue management capabilities
- Demonstrated communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Requirements - Experience supporting pharmaceutical commercial organizations
- Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration promotional regulations
- Understanding of healthcare fraud and abuse requirements
- Experience advising on product launches and commercialization activities
- Experience building partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $148,000 - 195,000. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
