Full Job Description
The Lead, Sustainability Strategy and Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in advancing Generac's sustainability strategy by strengthening sustainability data governance, leading external disclosures and ratings submissions, and embedding sustainability considerations into business processes and enterprise decision-making. This role will partner cross-functionally with senior leaders and business units to enhance sustainability performance, refine reporting processes, support regulatory readiness, and drive efficient, scalable operating practices across the organization. Job Responsibilities: Sustainability Strategy and Data Management: • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into business strategy, operations, and decision-making. • Drive alignment between sustainability priorities and business objectives across operations, supply chain, and product teams. • Lead Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions reporting, improving data quality, accuracy, and KPI tracking. • Manage sustainability reporting, including annual impact reports, regulatory disclosures, and executive dashboards. • Oversee sustainability ratings and rankings (CDP, ISS, EcoVadis, etc.), driving continuous improvement in performance and transparency. Reporting & Compliance • Monitor evolving sustainability regulations and reporting frameworks, including CSRD, SASB, and GHG Protocol requirements. • Maintain sustainability data governance, reporting standards, and internal controls to support compliance and assurance readiness. • Support governance processes, disclosure controls, and executive reporting to ensure accurate and timely sustainability disclosures. Cross-functional Leadership • Serve as a trusted sustainability partner to leaders across operations, supply chain, legal, HR, finance, and other key functions. • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect, validate, and improve sustainability data while promoting accountability and ownership. • Provide guidance and education on sustainability reporting requirements and support inquiries from customers, investors, and internal teams. Program & Project Leadership • Lead sustainability initiatives that reduce risk, improve performance, and create long-term business value. • Drive project execution, timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics for key sustainability programs. • Define and monitor KPIs, recommend process improvements, and enhance reporting effectiveness. • Continuously optimize ESG reporting processes, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency. Minimum Job Requirements: Education • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Economics, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Business, Engineering, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related field. Work Experience • 7 years of experience leading cross-functional sustainability, ESG disclosure, data governance, assurance readiness, or business integration initiatives in a complex, matrixed organization. • Experience managing external sustainability disclosures, ratings, rankings, or stakeholder questionnaires such as CDP, EcoVadis, MSCI, ISS, or similar platforms. • Experience translating sustainability priorities into business actions, project plans, and functional ownership models. • Demonstrated success integrating sustainability into enterprise strategies, processes, and business decisions through effective change management and collaboration. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities • Advanced understanding of Sustainability disclosure standards and sustainability frameworks. • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead organizational change. • Strong understanding of sustainability data governance, internal controls, documentation, and assurance readiness. • Ability to translate complex sustainability requirements into practical business processes and clear stakeholder expectations. • Excellent project management and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage competing priorities in a matrixed environment. • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools. • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment. Preferred Job Requirements: Education • Master's degree or advanced degree in Sustainability, Business, Economics, Environmental Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field. Work Experience • Preferred experience in environmental data collection or GHG accounting. Preferred experience supporting assurance or audit processes for ESG data. • Preferred experience driving sustainability integration across business functions, strategies, processes, and decision-making Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
