Job Description

The Data Governance Lead, Global Market Analytics & Insights plays a critical role within the Global Market Analytics & Center of Excellence function, part of the broader Global Competitive, Market Intelligence & Analytics (MCI&A) team.

This position is responsible for stewarding data assets and implementing standardized governance processes that ensure data quality, integration, and consistent documentation of sources, methodologies, and assumptions. These standards apply across market sizing, modeling, forecasting, and KPI measurement for Olympus' business and financial performance relative to market growth and competition.

The candidate will have strong communication and leadership skills and collaborate with stakeholders both within MCI&A and across the organization to define data needs, establish standardized process and data governance and data management best practices, ensure data quality, and elevate Olympus Global Market Analytics & Insights data capabilities.

The candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for data and a drive for continuous improvement. The candidate will have strong proficiency in data management, data governance, and data fabric. The candidate will be experienced with data governance frameworks, principles, and methodologies and bring experience with data governance tools.

The candidate will also be a self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced matrix working environment.

Job Duties

  • Lead data architecture and governance: Scale data architecture and governance processes; set up and maintain a centralized database across all relevant data domains, including catalogs, dictionaries, lineage, quality, and security.
  • Serve as a technical analytics expert: Design and implement enhancements to data collection, repository storage, and reporting tools to improve data flows and maximize value.
  • Act as market analytics data steward: Identify data quality challenges and work with business process owners to drive data consistency across the organization.
  • Collaborate for data integration: Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to develop capabilities for data development, governance, and management, ensuring integration of market analytics data into Olympus' planning ecosystem and data fabric.
  • Extract and compile strategic data: Query databases and other sources to support the strategic data needs of MCI&A, Business Units, Corporate, and other functions.
  • Standardize data elements and analytics: Establish and maintain standardized data element definitions, structures, and tables to support analytics such as market models, segmentation, benchmarking, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Enable self-service analytics: Set up and implement standard dashboards, self-service reporting, and analytics portals for prioritized and high-frequency requirements.
  • Manage data-driven projects: Oversee timelines, vendor relationships, and budgets to ensure delivery of high-quality results within specified timeframes.
  • Build strategic partnerships: Foster collaboration across global Olympus business units and functions to uncover data synergies, drive efficiencies, and standardize best practices.
  • Share expertise and methodologies: Participate in collaborative forums within Olympus, sharing methodologies and expertise across functions.
  • Lead AI planning and implementation: Drive AI initiatives and implementation in MCI&A analytics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization.


Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, business analytics, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or equivalent area; preferably in healthcare, medical device, or life sciences.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in data governance, database development and data management including working knowledge on ETL and SQL.
  • Minimum of 4 years project management experience in leading data projects across multiple teams.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or other enterprise analytics platforms in the context of data governance, data management, data fabric, data pipelines, and analytics implementation.
  • Experience with data governance tools, such as data catalogs, data dictionaries, data lineage, data quality, and data security.
  • Experience with AI planning and implementation in enterprise analytics.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to understand technical and clinical needs.
  • Ability to transform business problems into data solutions.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience for developing data capability for complex projects.
  • Self-motivated, high commitment and dedication with proactive mindset.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication (incl. PowerPoint, presentation skills).

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $122,362.00 - $171,307.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
