Laboratory Manager

Full Salary Range $71,302 - $116,521

The Laboratory Manager oversees the work of and provides technical support to laboratory personnel. Manages all aspects of the laboratory to include budget preparation, purchasing, personnel, preparation and submission of regulatory reports.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Chemistry or Microbiology with at least twelve credits in Microbiology.

Experience: Five years' experience as an Environmental Lab Analyst; Five years in a supervisory position in a related field. Must possess knowledge of proper laboratory procedures and good laboratory practices. Knowledge of the theories and practices in the fields of chemistry, microbiology, or biology which are applied in analytical techniques. Knowledge of environmental Standard Operating Procedures, EPA Approved Methods and Standard Methods. Knowledge of EPA (Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act) and MDE applicable regulations and guidelines.

License & Certification: Maryland Sampler Certification required. Maryland Class W5A and/or T4 Certifications are desirable. Valid vehicle operator license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with City policy.
