Full Job Description
Responsibilities

Empower AI is seeking a motivated IT Asset Management Specialist to analyze and maintain the accountability records for hardware and software assets managed by an enterprise IT Customer Support Services program supporting a Department of War agency. The program is accountable for 100% accountability, compliance, and audit readiness from procurement through disposition, and the specialist's core work is evaluating asset and inventory data for discrepancies and determining corrective actions, evaluating receipts against purchase orders and approved RIPs, determining disposition paths for end-of-life equipment, and monitoring license and warranty records for compliance gaps. The role builds a strong foundation in DoD property accountability and IT lifecycle management alongside senior asset managers and the Government's Logistics Management Office. This is a salaried, FLSA-exempt position in which you will independently analyze situations, determine the appropriate course of action, and exercise discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance to the program and its customers.

THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE IN QUANTICO, VA (RKB) WITH UP TO 10% OF TRAVEL INVOLVED.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Analyze asset records and physical inventory results to identify discrepancies, determine their probable causes (unrecorded transfers, disposal, custodian changes, data entry), and decide corrective entries to the authoritative inventory, escalating unresolved variances with recommendations.
  • Evaluate receipts of IT equipment and materials against purchase orders and approved RIPs, determine acceptance or discrepancy actions, certify receipt, and coordinate asset tagging and accountability with the Government's Logistics Management Office.
  • Determine correct asset data classification and required data fields for each asset (identification, manufacturer, cost and acquisition, lifecycle status, location, accountability, audit dates), and apply tagging and barcoding accordingly.
  • Review lifecycle transactions (deployment, transfer, loan, repair, retirement) for completeness and policy compliance, determine required custodian and hand receipt actions, and maintain accountable records.
  • Assess end-of-life, defective, and damaged equipment to determine disposition path and required documentation and sanitization coordination, and prepare turn-in packages for DRMO as directed.
  • Monitor software license and hardware warranty records, identify upcoming expirations and compliance gaps, and prepare the required multi-stage notifications and recommendations for renewal or retirement.
  • Analyze inventory data to support the Quarterly Lifecycle and License Management Report and ad hoc Government data calls, and identify data quality issues and process improvements.
  • Support asset-related service requests through the Customer-Confirmed Ticket Closure process, determine equipment staging requirements for deployments and refreshes, and maintain asset management standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 years of related experience (an Associate's degree with 2 years of related experience, or 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree, may be substituted).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance (favorably adjudicated T3/T3R) to start.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain Top Secret eligibility after start, if required by mission needs.
  • Must be within investigation scope and/or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation / Continuous Vetting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze problems, determine the appropriate course of action, and exercise discretion and independent judgment with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Experience or demonstrated aptitude in IT asset management, inventory control, logistics, supply, or property accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn asset management and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow Hardware/Software Asset Management).
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds and to operate barcode scanners and basic stockroom equipment.
  • Ability to travel to local sites and stockrooms as required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • IAITAM CHAMP or CSAM, or CompTIA A+ or ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
  • Experience with DoD property accountability (DoDI 5000.64), Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), hand receipts, and DRMO turn-in processes.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Asset Management / CMDB or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting Department of War (DoW), DoD, or other compliance-driven Federal IT environments.
  • Familiarity with IUID/WAWF receiving documentation and shipping/receiving procedures.
