Full Job Description
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Surgery team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. We're helping move cardiovascular care forward regionally and nationally through our MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, with clinical research, better diagnostic tools, and advanced treatments that are always patient focused. This role will be inpatient based, with the primary duties of the role focused on pre and post operative care and determining patient care plans. The shifts will include days, evenings and weekends; (4) 10 hr. shifts a week. May require additional experience in specialty assigned. required • The ideal candidate will have background experience in Cardiac surgery or a surgical setting. Licenses and Certifications • NP - Nurse Practitioner - Licensed in the District of Columbia Maryland or Virginia or any combination as required based on work location(s). May require specialty license based on location. required and • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and • Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. Knowledge Skills and Abilities • Superior verbal and written communication skills. Must have good problem-solving and independent judgment skills.
