We're seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Manager to champion preventative maintenance excellence across our semi-automated pallet operations. This is an opportunity to lead a skilled team, optimize asset reliability, and play a critical role in delivering operational excellence every day. CHEP is looking for a motivated Industrial Maintenance Manager to join our team in Pendergrass, GA!
Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Develop and manage a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure timely and effective maintenance, reducing equipment downtime and improving overall plant efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, actively enforcing corporate Zero Harm policies and conducting regular safety checks on equipment and building services.
  • Implement process reliability systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving equipment reliability and efficiency targets.
  • Manage the procurement, inventory, and budget control of spare parts and consumables, ensuring effective stock management to support maintenance activities.
  • Lead and support capital expenditure projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and optimize the use of utilities such as electricity, gas, and water, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Ensure plant compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards through regular safety audits, equipment testing, and asset management processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and performance management to meet the operational needs of the plant.


The purpose of the role is to manage and lead the plant maintenance team to ensure the safe and efficient running of all the plant's production equipment, facilities and building services. The role will lead process reliability systems implementation in the plant, ensures adequate processes and systems are in place to measure, track and drive continuous improvement of plant production equipment. The Industrial Maintenance Manager will implement plant preventive maintenance systems and best practice sharing with other plants of an effective maintenance program.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

Experience & Qualifications:
  • 2-3+ years of people management experience in an engineering or industrial maintenance role preferably in the FMCG sector
  • 5+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical repair and maintenance experience (hydraulic & pneumatic tools, machinery & equipment)
  • HNC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline desirable


Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of the Budgeting (control) and CAPEX process
  • Knowledge of OEE and reliability systems
  • CQV Process
  • Project Management
  • Microsoft Project as a scheduling tool


What To Expect

Additional Site Details:
  • Site is a 2-shift operation running Monday-Thursday approximately 6am-5am daily; Working hours for Industrial Maintenance Manager will potentially overlap between 1st and 2nd shift for coverage
  • Site has approximately 70 employees
  • 3-5 direct reports
  • Weekly sort: 35,000+ pallets; Weekly repair: 20,000+ pallets
  • Equipment types: material handling conveyance such as chain conveyors, roller conveyors and/or belt conveyors; Demand paint system and ink jets for stenciling; Vision systems, robotics and automated equipment

Compensation Statement:

The salary range for this position is $86,000 to $120,000. Compensation ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided. If you have questions, please speak to your Talent Acquisition Partner about the flexibility and detail of our compensation philosophy.

Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be part of a total offering beyond medical & retirement benefits and may include other monetary incentives or business benefits.
