What you will do

As the IT and Technology Project Manager on the Johnson Controls Public Private Partnership (P3)  team, you will be responsible for the delivery of IT and Technology related services for the P3 sites.

As an IT Operations Manager reporting to the ICAT Customer Business Director, IT and Technology, the operations manager will be responsible for the IT systems currently deployed at Johnson Controls P3 client sites. Sites will include 7X24 critical care healthcare facilities, court houses, correctional facilities and educational sites.  IT technology in the P3 portfolio will involve:

CCTV Systems

Access Control 

Real Time System Locating (RTLS)

Nurse Call

Building Automation Systems

Digital Signage

Network (Wired and Wireless)

IT Infrastructure such as servers and SANs

DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems)

Cyber Security

The key requirement for this role is to apply IT best practices to ensure that the systems achieve 99.999% uptime and meet JCI’s contract obligations. 

How you will do it

Manage information technology and computer systems by planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating IT and electronic data operations.

Direct a team of IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance.

Ensure that all IT service incidents are identified and resolved as per the defined service levels.

Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems. Ensure that all scheduled maintenance activities are completed on the IT systems.

Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures Prepares and reviews Standard Operating Procedures, written instructions and technical literature for use within the P3 business for IT. Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.

Manages client expectations and contract service levels to mitigate performance risk.Communicates the specialized nature of this part of the business to the P3 Bid teams, clients, Project Co partners and interfaces with our Operational subcontractor.

Provides advanced technical support on ICAT matters to operational teams in an advisory capacity.Participates in technology transfer initiatives among the IT Departments, Subcontractors and other company departments focused on the application of technology to business processes.

Plans, conducts, schedules and control

s operational tasks and strategies to maintain ICAT systems, upgrade to current versions and define required lifecycle investments in ICAT systems. Determine appropriate balance between self-perform and outsourced support services for delivery of ICAT systems and equipment.

Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software obligations as a part of routine maintenance and Lifecycle obligations. Functions as P3 Solutions representative to manage relationships between the P3 business and our subcontractors and technology partners.

Lead cross-functional, global and diverse operational teams. Plan for, and acquire, necessary resources and coordinate the efforts of core, extended and support team members, contractors or consultants in order to deliver programs according to plan. Coach, mentor and motivate team members to take positive action and accountability for assigned work.

Analyzes advances in IT systems and equipment and assesses the impact on current operations, particularly the contract requirement to provide integrations.Propose solutions to determine customer needs and develop plans to introduce and deploy new technology applications in an acute care hospital focused on digital applications to process.

Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness. Assist in planning and forecasting yearly network hardware and software for budgeting. Keep the plan updated throughout the year on a quarterly basis.

Work collaboratively with other managers within the P3 organization and the larger Sustainability Infrastructure group.

What we look for

Required


Minimum ten years experience with demonstrated performance in IT or Technology fields.

Experience working in Healthcare, preferably within a Public Private Partnership (P3) contract is preferred

Experience with construction project standards as well as IT operational standards
Must have previous and proven IT and Technology operational experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; ability to communicate well both verbally and in written formats. Ability to work collaboratively with user, development and support groups. Good political acumen with flexibility & adaptability to changing situations.

Sound commercial decisions making skills with an understanding of IT contract subcontract relationships and management.
IT / Technical certifications.

Preferred
Preferable a BSc in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent certifications and work experience.

Industry certifications are an asset
