ABOUT THE ROLEThe CW Systems Technical Operations Engineering team is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer with a specialization in HVAC systems. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, including those enforced by OSHA and refrigerant management standards from the EPA. As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will not only deploy our products to customers, but also play a pivotal role in the customer handoff and ongoing sustainment of our systems. As a key contributor to the Technical Operations Engineering team, your role is to seamlessly integrate the product engineering and deployment operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DOYou will be responsible for the complete ownership of all dependencies, ensuring the seamless operation of Anduril's suite of integrated hardware-software solutions in diverse environments. In your role, you will collaborate closely with the product development team, utilizing your extensive operations and engineering background to deliver highly effective and reliable solutions. Your responsibilities will span a variety of areas, such as:
- HVAC System Troubleshooting & Repair
- System Reliability
- Deployment at Scale
- Incident Triage and Root-Cause Analysis in HVAC Systems
- Logistics
- User Experience and Software Tool Enhancements for HVAC Control Systems
- Pre-deployment Testing and Configuration of HVAC Units
Furthermore, as a Technical Operations Engineer, you are integral to customer demonstrations, events, and the initial deployment of Anduril's CW products. The insights you gather from these experiences will feed back into product development and enable you to guide others in the deployment and operation of our products. You will play a central role in the end-to-end customer success, ensuring that our offerings are well-understood and effectively supported from initial handoff through sustained operation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Based in Costa Mesa, California; adept at collaborating with a distributed team
- Profound hands-on expertise with HVAC systems, including maintenance, repair, and operational methods
- Expertise in HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostics
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC system design and specifications
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external customers
- Competency in data-driven analysis and HVAC system troubleshooting, with a strong grasp of OSHA and EPA standards
- Skill in educating others on HVAC equipment operation with a focus on safety and environmental protocols
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, potentially to remote or austere locations
- Proficiency in resolving complex HVAC challenges effectively
- Recognition as a technical authority on HVAC system installation, maintenance, and sustainment in challenging environments
- Self-sufficiency in HVAC maintenance and hardware replacement; availability for prompt travel to customer sites
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- Able to meet health and medical requirements in advance of deployments in accordance with DFARS [redacted], DoDI 3020.41, and/or any additional requirements outlined by region or supporting force, as applicable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, with an emphasis on HVAC
- Professional certifications in HVAC, OSHA, and EPA
- Experience with HVAC operations in secure environments, such as DoD
- Knowledge of military or commercial HVAC requirements and operations
- Military background with a specialization in HVAC systems
- Technical proficiency in HVAC control systems networking and integration
US Salary Range
$113,000-$155,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
