Job Summary Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Manages the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening and interviews; negotiates with leadership and candidates.
- Consults with unit leaders on organizational design and planning, providing strategic advice to help meet the unit's business objectives.
- Collaborates and develops recruiting strategies to shape the organization's talent philosophy; meets current and/or anticipated staffing needs.
- Ensures recruiting and staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
- Leads enterprise-wide HR initiatives that support long-term business goals, including mergers, restructures, and large-scale change management efforts.
- Influences and shapes a culture of continuous improvement through proactive identification of trends, challenges, and opportunities in the workforce.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues with continued partnership, counsel, and support from Centers of Expertise (COEs) and Academic Affairs.
- Leads efforts to enhance employee engagement and retention, using data-driven strategies to address key challenges and opportunities.
- Coaches and partners with leaders to help determine best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, conflict resolution to ensure alignment and consistency across the university.
- Provides HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on issues to leaders and managers.
- Collaborate with HR COEs to implement and support university-wide initiatives; ensures school/unit needs are understood and met.
- Ensures compliance with university policies and employment laws.
- Communicates policy changes and updates to employees.
- May supervise staff.
- Provides mentorship to junior colleagues.
General Responsibilities
- Utilizes and applies in-depth HR body of knowledge and skills to provide strategic guidance for academic and/or staff HR related matters like salary administration, hiring, training, policy interpretation, promotion and tenure, unit restructures, workforce planning, etc.
- Resolves and provides solutions to the most complex employee relations issues with continued partnership, counsel, and support from COEs.
- Develops, implements, and drives recruiting strategies to meet current and/or anticipated staffing needs.
- Coaches and partners with leaders to create actionable plans for improving leadership effectiveness and continuous improvement for employee engagement.
- Provides strategic academic and/or staff HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on complex issues to leaders and managers to ensure alignment and consistency across the university.
- Provides advice to leadership for development in support of a strong human capital strategy.
- Collaborates with HR COEs to roll out and support university wide initiatives, ensure client's needs are understood and met, and deliver change management interventions.
- Provides HR support for academic personnel processes, including administration for academic leaves, policy review and consultation, visa-processing coordination, and facilitation of promotion and tenure procedures.

EDUCATION
Required Preferred WORK EXPERIENCE
Required - 7 years of progressively responsible experience in multiple HR disciplines or a related field.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Preferred - SHRM-SCP/SPHR within 1 year from date of hire.

Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. Advertised Salary $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year based on experience
