HNTB Corporation is an architecture, civil engineering consulting and construction management firm that was founded in 1914. Its headquarters are in Kansas City, Missouri, but the firm has numerous offices across the United States. The firm has designed many bridges, roadways, airports, professional sports stadiums and rail and transit systems across the United States and around the world. John Lyle Harrington, Ernest Edward Howard and Louis Russell Ash founded the firm as Harrington, Howard & Ash in 1914 specializing in the design of moveable bridges. In 1941 it changed its name to Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff when Enoch Needles, Henry Tammen & Ruben Bergendoff join as partners.
