Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Senior HR Business Partner

ABB is searching for an HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team in Mebane, NC's manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement people strategy through the execution of HR processes. Each day, you will provide HR support for a defined team or location, by partnering with respective managers. You will also showcase your expertise by representing HR in the business and establishing strong relationships with all business leaders and employees.

This role will have a strong focus on the manufacturing supervisory positions to best assist with coaching, developing, and retaining talent across the business.

The work model for the role is: onsite in our Mebane, NC manufacturing facility. #LI-Onsite

Key Responsibilities for the Role:
  • Strategy: Understands and contributes to the overall Business and People Strategy. Determines and delivers the best approach in area of responsibility. Executes the HR priorities while adding value to the business.
  • People Leadership and Development: Provides leadership and guidance to ensure that the area of responsibility is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coaches, motivates, and develops talent to build an effective, capable, and high performing team.
  • Functional Excellence: Acts as partner and coach for Managers and Supervisors.Supports the business and the execution of HR Processes including Culture/Employee Engagement, Talent Acquisition, People Reviews, Succession Planning, Capability & Workforce Planning, Career Pathing, Leadership and Functional Competency Assessments / Development, Organization Design (including HCM), Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Values in Action, Learning & Development, People Performance, Executive Compensation, Employee Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, People Analytics, Onboarding, and Policy/Procedure Administration. Involvement in Employee Life Cycle.
  • Change Management: Facilitates and ensures success of change management initiatives across area of responsibility. Drives behavioral change and continuous improvement.
  • Employee and Manager Relations: Represent HR in the workplace through employee engagement, building partnerships between employees, HR and Management. Serve as an employee advocate and conduct investigations of allegations as needed in adherence to ABB policies and instructions. Build credible and trusting relationships with production employee population to help facilitate effective employee communications and relations. Provide coaching to managers and employees to translate leadership paired values into action, demonstrate business-led collaboration, people management and development.

Required Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial relations, or related discipline plus 8 or more years of HR experience or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated performance and results.
  • 5+ years of HR experience in large manufacturing; solid HR expertise, including employee relations, organizational development and staffing, compensation, and performance management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of US employment law and compliance
  • This is a 100 % on site position, on site experience is required.
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Preferred Qualifications for the Role:
  • SAP and Workday system experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Ability to interact with managers, supervisors and employees at all levels in the organization
  • Experience in Non-Union shop and in conducting employee investigations
  • Experience delivering HR solutions through a combination of the onsite HR teams and a Centralized Services Team
