We are hiring a
Head of AI Adoption & Governance in our New York City office. About the Role:You will be responsible for our internal AI rollout: what tools we use, who gets access to what data, and what use cases have the greatest impact on our business. You'll partner with business leaders to provide options for their teams and support our platform leadership as they identify which AI platforms enable their teams to move quickly and efficiently. This is a strategy and judgment role, not a ticket queue. In collaboration with Engineering, IT, Security and Legal, you'll set the strategic direction and the guardrails for our team and handle provisioning, integrations, and day-to-day access along with more junior systems support. We take seriously the obligation to safeguard the data of our company and our clients. The right candidate will structure and oversee internal AI usage with that obligation as a guidepost.
This role will report into the Office of our co-CEO Matt Kalmans.
What You'll Do:Set the strategy
- Build the business case for AI: help leaders identify where AI meaningfully changes how we work, and where it's a distraction.
- Own the roadmap for internal AI adoption: which tools, for which teams, in which order, and why.
- In collaboration with Legal, translate the company's risk posture into guardrails and organizationwide understanding that AI users can apply without limited oversight; report out to leadership on adoption, value delivered, and potential risks.
Implement the strategy
- Build and maintain a data classification scheme that AI users can follow: what data can go into which tool, and what never leaves our environment.
- Ensure individual client contractual obligations are operationalized into our AI usage processes on behalf of our teams.
- Protect client confidentiality by ensuring that AI use respects internal confidential data separation.
- Define the incident path for potential AI-specific failures - data exposure through a prompt, an unreviewed output going to a client, a vendor breach.
Drive adoption
- Run pilots for defined AI use cases with clear success criteria, and stop usage that doesn't work or scale.
- Build enablement, including training, creation of prompt and use-case libraries, and identification of internal champions that help tools get used well rather than just provisioned.
- Partner closely with Security, Legal, IT, and Engineering leadership.
Experiences and Capabilities You Bring:- 8+ years across some combination of security, privacy, technology risk, IT strategy, or technical program management, including work in a regulated or high-confidentiality environment.
- Real experience deploying software into an organization and getting people to use it, not just evaluating or governing it.
- Working fluency with privacy and data protection frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2) sufficient to make decisions and know when to bring in counsel.
- Enough technical depth to engage with a vendor on critical topics including retention, model training, and access controls to secure satisfactory responses.
- Comfort owning ambiguous decisions and defending them to executives and clients.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or another business built on client confidentiality.
- Prior work experience launching governance from scratch.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
