  • Develop and execute PC and HACCP programs based on operational needs.
  • Monitor performance and growth opportunities for QA Technicians and Sanitors.
  • Collaborate with cross-department leadership to preempt food safety and quality issues.
  • Conduct internal audits and oversee corrective action procedures.

Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager

Full-Time | Exempt | Medina, OH

Now Hiring - FSQA Department

Ready to lead the team that keeps our food safe, our quality high, and our facility audit-ready every single day? As our Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager, you'll own the QA and Sanitation shifts, keep us compliant with USDA/FSIS and FDA regulations, and be the go-to leader when it's time to dig into a root cause or walk an auditor through the plant. What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage daily shifts for our Quality and Sanitation teams, providing hands-on guidance, mentoring, and oversight
  • Implement and maintain USDA/FSIS & FDA regulations for our Ready-to-Eat fresh salads and soups, including HACCP, HARPC, SSOP, and prerequisite programs
  • Serve as an SQF Practitioner, supporting audits and keeping our SQF program aligned to the current SQF Code
  • Own the review, development, and execution of our PC, HACCP, and PRP programs
  • Manage QA Technician and Sanitor performance, growth opportunities, and annual reviews
  • Partner closely with Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement leadership to get ahead of anything that could impact food safety, quality, or sanitation
  • Coordinate with our Internal Audits team to schedule, document, and follow through on audits - including root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints as they come up on your shift
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts across Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation
  • Perform sanitary design inspections of equipment and facilities
  • Support training initiatives through our FSQA Compliance Training Coordinator
  • Help set and hit departmental QA goals alongside FSQA leadership

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree required; a degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is a plus
  • 10+ years of relevant experience; time in a USDA/FSIS or FDA regulated Ready-to-Eat environment is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a track record of measuring and driving improvement
  • Certifications like SQF Practitioner, HACCP, and PCQI are a plus
  • Working knowledge of food regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Proven success leading and developing a team
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong root cause investigation skills
