Position Overview

As a Finance Lead - Card Network Financials & Analytics within PNC's Retail Finance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, or Wilmington Delaware.

Serve as the finance lead, partnering with the Card Network Product Team responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, analytics (interchange and merchant incentives), strategic planning, regulatory review and contract economics related to payment network relationships (Visa, Mastercard, Star,
Interlink, Maestro). Act as the primary finance partner to Product, Payments, Treasury, Accounting, Strategy and Executive Leadership.

1. Financial Management & Forecasting

Network Revenue Ownership:
▪ Own forecasting and reporting of network incentives, assessment fees, network processing expenses, merchant
incentives programs, settlement -related impacts, cross -border revenues, network -funded marketing programs

2. Interchange Strategy & Analytics

Interchange Optimization:
▪ Monitor interchange yield across Consumer, Small Business and Commercial debit and credit Cards – identify
opportunities to maximize interchange rates and ensure contract commitments are met

Merchant Analytics:
▪ Analyze network economics by Merchant, Merchant category code (MCC), payment channel, wallet usage, ticket
size. Assess impacts of new network rule changes and merchant agreements.

3. General Ledger & Accounting Governance

GL Ownership:
▪ Maintain end-to-end GL mapping, ensure network fees reconcile
Controls & Reconciliation
▪ Review network settlement files, incentive accruals, revenue recognition, contract amortization(s)
▪ Accounting partnership with corporate accounting, external reporting, controllers

4. Network Contracts & Incentive Management

Contract economics lead:
▪ Visa, Mastercard, and Fiserv negotiations, future network diversification efforts
▪ Network insights ownership: Incentive benchmarking, contract opportunities, value -pool analysis

5. Regulatory & Industry Impact Analysis

Interchange Regulation Monitoring:
▪ Assess impacts from: Durbin -related changes, merchant litigation

Job Description
  • Designs and leads preparation of timely, transparent, and succinct financial reports to enable informed decision-making by stakeholders. Collaborates with business unit leaders to produce timely and precise revenue, expense, and staffing forecasts. Develops strategic insights from data to enhance budget and forecast accuracy. Serves as a senior expert for the team.
  • Leads annual budget cycle and continuous monthly forecasting. Leads development of long term strategic plans. Presents business leaders and executives with key financial forecasts, metric-driven performance dashboards, and strategic business insights.
  • Performs on-demand analysis and generates custom reports to address specific business needs. Collaborates independently with the business on implementation and compliance of new accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitates audit, regulatory, and investor requests by providing timely and accurate information. May communicate directly with external constituents. Promptly identifies and addresses control matters; maintains sound control processes. May also contribute to risk review and challenge for assigned business.
  • Demonstrates executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate directly with senior leaders and influence colleagues across all organization levels. Cultivates partnerships with colleagues across departments to ensure alignment and shared success.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $91,000.00 – $185,900.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
