Job Description

Local CPA firm, located in San Jose, California, is actively seeking a highly motivated CPA. Broad knowledge and hands on experience with tax preparation, planning, and accounting is necessary.

Responsibilities can include:
• Prepare and review Federal and State individual, corporate, partnership, trust, exempt organization, and estate tax returns
• Perform and review compilations of small to mid-size businesses
• Manage client engagements
• Tax planning and research
• Assist in tax controversy matters, including government audits
• Understand and track tax deadlines and maintain client tax compliance
• Review client payroll and sales tax returns as needed
• Perform additional duties and projects as requested by clients and management

Qualifications:
• 3+ years recent tax preparation experience
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Good client service skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize a number of client accounts
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, etc.)
• Experience with Thomson CS Professional Suite (Ultra Tax, FileCabinet, etc.) and PPC Checkpoint a plus
