Overview

The Executive Director is responsible for the effective operation of Oncology Services. As a member of the management team, the Executive Director leads the service line in the provision of patient- and customer-centered services. The Executive Director is responsible for the accomplishment of results and targets that set the standard in quality, service, growth, and fiscal management. The Executive Director creates the vision and strategic direction that support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The Executive Director coordinates the design, development, and implementation of new programs, seeking growth opportunities. The Executive Director leads in a manner that elicits trust and builds confidence in others. The climate provided offers opportunities for staff to gain new skills, increase self-confidence, share ideas, and encourage decision-making at the staff level. Additionally, this position serves as a resource and representative for the service line to affiliates, other health care providers, and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively partners with physician service line leaders to drive clinical, operational, and financial excellence across oncology continuum in alignment with system strategies.
  • Demonstrates sound fiscal management of operations through comprehensive budgetary planning, budget variance analysis/justification, regular monitoring of financial performance/productivity as well as working knowledge of core financial functions (e.g., billing and collection practices, revenue cycle, and payor reimbursement).
  • Collaborates with the system oncology service line leadership and market leadership regarding strategic planning. Able to convey strategic vision and priorities with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement tactics in collaboration with the physician lead and the system oncology leadership that leads to the overall profitability of the service line.
  • Shows proficiency in leading and driving multi-disciplinary system-wide groups, project, teams, and meetings while addressing barriers to key deliverables.
  • Maintains proficient physician relationships across the service line.
  • Leads system-wide operational huddles on a regular rotating basis.
  • Serves as the system-wide oncology administrator on-call on a regular rotating basis.


Qualifications

  • Three yeas leadership experience in oncology service within a healthcare system/organization - Required
  • One year leadership experience with oversight for a hospital-based oncology environment - Required
  • One year experience with working in a physician dyad model - Preferred
  • One year experience in a group practice and clinic leadership - Preferred
