Mandarin Oriental, Boston is looking for an Executive Banquet Chef to join our Food & Beverage team.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Food & Beverage department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Executive Banquet Chef will take full responsibility for the Banquets and Culinary operation of the hotel. He/she will oversee the overall organization, ensuring the implementation and consistency of the standards of service and execution of policies and procedures.

The Executive Banquet Chef reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.

As Executive Banquet Chef, you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Lead the banquet kitchen team
  • Coordinate all Banquet Events
  • Create innovative menus
  • Partner with hotel restaurant, Ramsay's Kitchen, on all functions and guest satisfaction
  • Partner with the Sales, Marketing, and Catering Teams on all hotel functions
  • Plan all food requisitions in a timely manner; ensure proper inventory and food cost are maintained
  • Elevate and mentor culinary colleagues; model Mandarin Oriental culture and values
  • Own and elevate the amenity program; innovate and create engaging guest offerings
  • Ensure compliance with all health codes and certifications
  • Adhere to Safe and Sound safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Attend daily BEO meeting and weekly Resume meeting
  • Guide the team to achieve 100% guest satisfaction

Financial Responsibilities
  • Manage food and labor costs per departmental budgets
  • Prepare weekly schedules

Human Resources responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively
  • Utilize the Colleague Handbook to support communication of policies and procedures
  • Maintain Forbes Five Star, LQE, LQA and FLHSS standards
  • Organize daily colleague communication meeting


As Executive Banquet Chef, we expect from you:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role; experience in luxury hospitality is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading a team.
  • Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of the shift; ability to frequently push, pull, and lift carts or items weighing up to 25 pounds.


Desirable:
  • Culinary degree


Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $95,000-105,000 annually.
