Full Job Description
Role

The Equipment & Facility Specialist supports the buildout and operational readiness of the industrialization facility, with a focus on equipment installation, facilitization, and commissioning. This role combines hands-on execution with ownership of equipment-related planning and coordination. The position interfaces with the Facility Manager, Program Manager, equipment vendors, and partner teams to ensure tools are properly integrated into the facility and ready for operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning and execution of equipment installation activities, including layout validation, rigging coordination, and site readiness.
  • Review equipment specifications and define facility requirements (e.g., power, exhaust, utilities, space, and access).
  • Coordinate facilitization efforts, including utility tie-ins and infrastructure readiness in collaboration with facility and contractor teams.
  • Support and guide commissioning activities, including installation verification, startup coordination, and issue resolution with vendors.
  • Identify gaps or conflicts between equipment requirements and facility capabilities; drive alignment and resolution.
  • Interface directly with equipment vendors and contractors to ensure scope is understood and executed correctly.
  • Provide hands-on support for installation, modification, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
  • Support general facility operations and upkeep as required, consistent with overall site needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to other facility operations personnel on equipment-related activities.


Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in equipment installation, facilities engineering, or technical operations within a lab, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure and utilities (electrical, exhaust, gas, compressed air, etc.) as they relate to equipment integration.
  • Experience supporting equipment commissioning and startup activities.
  • Ability to interpret equipment drawings, specifications, and layout requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to remain hands-on.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
