Develops and applies optical fabrication processes for the manufacture of ultra-precision optical components of various materials (glass, metal, ceramic) using both computer controlled (zone polishing) and conventional polishing methods.
Follow methods and procedures through the production process. Determine effectiveness and or efficiency of procedures and test specifications and assist in the generation and development of optimized test specifications.
Works with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Work with applications labs and customers to develop new applications and markets for specialty fiber assemblies.
Develop processes and analytics for supplier management and drive quality, delivery, cost and business continuity improvements across the supply base. Interface with global organization for the management of global strategic suppliers and directly manage local strategic suppliers.
Develop and implement methods for understanding inventory status and specific actions for improving inventory turns over time. Define and implement sourcing strategies that provide high reliability delivery with minimum inventory and price commitments.
This candidate will perform functions associated with all laser assembly operations including working with engineers in setup and calibration tasks as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
