Summary:
Associate Epic Application AnalystThe Application Teams are responsible for the effective implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of Epic System applications at Penn Medicine. Analysts will contribute to the seamless delivery of Epic solutions, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence. Analysts are responsible for performing these duties while meeting the policies and standards of Penn Medicine and Corporate IS.
Accountabilities- Performs analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of simple and intermediate issues at the technical, interface and application levels. Identifies root-cause, recommends, tests, and implements changes.
- Collaborates with Epic technical support teams, vendors, and other IS Application teams as needed to address complex technical issues.
- Communicates problems, issues and potential solutions to team members, clients, and organizational administration.
- Understands integration between various applications and functionality within those applications. Serves to assure full integration of systems and devices utilizing interfacing standards and vendor provided utilities.
- Provides customer service and acts as a liaison between the operational departments and Information Services.
- Utilizes expertise to design, build, install, modify, and test application software to support and optimize operational processes.
- Clearly defines and articulates to operational stakeholder's workflow changes that are offered with software/hardware upgrades and best practice solutions as recommended by the vendor.
- Assists with defining and documenting user requirements and system scope. Reviews and collects information regarding potential system enhancements.
- Maintains thorough documentation of configurations, customizations, and support processes.
- Complies with all applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures of Penn Medicine to ensure necessary controls, documentation, and audit trails.
- Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Minimum RequirementsRequired Education and Experience- H.S. Diploma/GED and 4+ years related IT experience, preferably in healthcare
or
- Associate's Degree and 3+ years Related IT experience, preferably in healthcare
or
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field is required. (Individuals with other majors may be considered with internship or other IT related experience)
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications - Epic Certification, Proficiency, or Accreditation is preferred.

Addendum:
Penn Medicine is looking to fill an analyst position on the PennChart Inpatient Specialty team. This application team maintains and provides enhancements for specialty areas like Case Management and Social Work, Behavioral Health, Clinical Nutrition, Rehab, Respiratory Therapy, and Genomics. Experience in these areas of the Epic application are preferred, particularly in the Case Management space.

Analysts will contribute to the seamless delivery of Epic solutions, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence. Licenses or certifications in Clinical Case Management, Behavioral Health, Rehab, EpicCare Inpatient Procedure Orders, EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation greatly preferred.
