Full Job Description
Pinterest is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Web Product Enablement team in Toronto. You'll lead the engineering team that is empowering web developers at Pinterest to build modern, world-class web experiences for Pinners and advertisers with high productivity, performance, and quality.
What you'll do:
- Lead, coach and grow a specialized team of web platform engineers.
- Set the team's technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Client Platforms and cross-functional product teams.
- Drive platform modernization that helps product teams adopt modern client architectures and build high-quality experiences.
- Improve client stability, health metrics, browser compatibility, runtime frameworks and critical dependency currency.
- Establish clear operating rhythms for planning, two-week sprints, risk management and monthly stakeholder updates.
- Hire, onboard and develop engineers, creating an inclusive, high-performing team with clear expectations and growth opportunities.
- Use AI to accelerate engineering workflows and modernization while applying judgment and verification to maintain code quality, security and reliability.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, including 2+ years of experience in engineering management.
- Strong technical judgment from depth in Node, JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Experience partnering with Senior/Staff engineers to build high impact roadmaps.
- Experience building platform or foundations capabilities that improve the productivity and effectiveness of product engineering teams.
- Experience aligning priorities across teams and driving delivery through ambiguity and competing stakeholder needs.
- Experience improving engineering quality, client reliability, platform health or developer productivity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build alignment across engineering and product partners.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflows, with a strong practice of validating AI-assisted work and maintaining ownership of final outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
