Full Job Description
We are seeking a Electrical Project Engineer with a strong background in power distribution for our Piedmont, SC location. This role is responsible for: 1.) Providing engineering leadership in the development, design, and execution of small to medium-sized capital projects within the Piedmont and Rock Hill sites; 2.) Providing direct oversight of outside engineering firms and technical specialists to ensure project designs are developed in compliance with Syensqo's specifications, standards, and engineering practices; and 3.) Supporting Production and Maintenance teams by providing electrical design input to maintenance activities and reliability projects. We count on you for: • Effectively manage multiple capital and expense projects simultaneously from project concept (FEL I-III) to implementation and closure (full execution). • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules with input from Production, Process, and Maintenance engineering teams. • Lead detailed design efforts for small capital and expense projects. • Lead and manage external engineering contractors for large capital project design efforts and provide additional design resources during peak activity levels. • Develop engineering specifications and bid packages for engineering services, construction labor, and equipment. • Lead project design reviews with input from multiple departments, such as Production, Industrial Automation, Process Engineering, and Maintenance. • Provide technical support in reliability issues and assist in troubleshooting process or equipment issues. • Develop project work plans to identify construction resources for project execution. • Develop engineering transmittals to communicate project design details to construction. • Assist construction supervisor with coordination activities for project execution. • Utilize SAP to manage project spending and equipment setup activities. • Assist Maintenance and Reliability team to procure capital spares. • Participate in project PSSRs, commissioning, startup, and training activities. • Provide support for small projects that require electrical engineering design elements. • Participate with cross-functional groups in incident investigations & completion of corrective actions. • Develop and maintain site project engineering procedures. • Adhere to all HSE standards, policies, and procedures. You can count on us for: • We offer the opportunity to join an exciting growth company • A full range of benefits as expected of a successful company • Opportunities for growth and learning • Encouraging a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that values and respects individual differences and backgrounds You will bring: • Four year degree in Engineering - BS in Electrical Engineering • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (chemical/refinery and PSM experience preferred) • Must have a solid history of electrical power experience involving the design and installation of low to medium voltage electrical equipment and systems. • Process control and instrumentation design expertise is a plus: • Familiarity with DCS systems, PLC systems, interfacing techniques between control platforms, safety interlock testing techniques and requirements. • Knowledge of instrument to control system communication protocol standards. • Knowledge of variable frequency drives. • Knowledge of field instrumentation technology, specification, installation, configuration, and testing. • Must have working knowledge of applicable standards (eg NEC, NFPA, ISA, OSHA) relating to electrical systems in a chemical facility. • Familiarity with load flow, short circuit, fault analysis and arc flash studies using electrical design/modeling software (eg SKM, ETAP, Easy Power, etc.) • Experience with protective relay coordination and TCC curves. • Experience with project design and project management • Proficient in SAP PS Project and PM Maintenance Modules preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Project, CAD drawing viewers, and/or other project engineering tools You will get: • Competitive salary and benefits package • The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,720 to $123,400. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.
