We are seeking junior and mid-level candidates with a strong foundation in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field to bridge the gap between software development and hardware systems. This role involves designing and implementing solutions that integrate hardware components, including drones, electro-optical sensors, lasers, lidar, comms, and FPGAs, with advanced software applications.
A successful candidate will be expected to:
- Work with a team of skilled professionals to design, build, and test electro-optic systems
- Apply expertise in embedded systems and real-time control to develop novel sensing platforms and edge devices
- Support system design and implementation from initial concept through production
- Write efficient, reliable code to interface with hardware and optimize system performance
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop prototype systems and bring concepts to production readiness
- Contribute to projects involving robotics, computer vision, motion control, and real-time data acquisition.

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills):- B.S. or higher in Robotics, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience. Significant direct production engineering experience may substitute for education
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or embedded system languages
- Comfortable with hands-on field testing of hardware and software systems and working with interdisciplinary teams
- Hands-on experience with robotic sensors (e.g., LIDARs, cameras, IMUs) and platforms
- Organization and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven capability to develop creative solutions to complex technical problem
- Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Nice to Have (Preferred Skills):- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN
- A background in hardware debugging tools and methodologies
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
The salary range for this role is
$95,000 to $110,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
