POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a DSP Engineer to join our growing team. This role combines deep digital signal processing expertise with hands-on hardware design experience to advance Lumilens' measurement capabilities for ultra-high-speed serial data systems supporting AI infrastructure applications. The successful candidate will help improve the accuracy, reliability, and performance of advanced measurements and related algorithms, including work aligned with IEEE 802.3 where Lumilens has strategic interest.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for high-speed serial data measurements, combining advanced DSP expertise with practical hardware design knowledge.
  • Develop and refine advanced measurement techniques and algorithms for ultra-high-speed optical and electrical signaling systems.
  • Improve TECQ/TDECQ measurement accuracy and related algorithms to support more precise and reliable results across Lumilens' product development efforts.
  • Support advanced measurement work aligned with IEEE 802.3 standards and Lumilens' strategic technical priorities.
  • Contribute to Functional Receiver measurement work while maintaining appropriate confidentiality around patent-pending details.
  • Research, design, and develop tools for ultra-high-speed serial data applications in AI infrastructure.
  • Drive hardware improvements that reduce timebase jitter toward 100 fs, improving upon current architectures above 250 fs.


Key Qualifications:
  • Strong expertise in digital signal processing for high-speed serial data measurements.
  • Hands-on hardware design experience for high-speed measurement systems, optical transceivers, or related photonics/electrical test platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced measurement algorithms, signal integrity, jitter analysis, and high-bandwidth instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.3 measurement methodologies and optical communication standards.
  • Ability to translate complex measurement challenges into practical algorithms, tools, and hardware improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, research, and product teams.


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with TECQ/TDECQ measurements, equalization, waveform processing, and receiver modeling.
  • Background in optical communications, high-speed SerDes, photonics, or AI infrastructure interconnect technologies.
  • Experience developing measurement automation tools, test platforms, or custom instrumentation workflows.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
