Job Summary:
This position sits within the ALM First Investment Management Group (IMG), focused primarily on securitized credit trading for the firm's discretionary and non-discretionary clients.
Responsibilities:
- Source, analyze, and execute investment ideas across securitized credit products, including idiosyncratic, relative value, and macro thematic trades
- Contribute to portfolio positioning decisions for relevant portfolio mandates and fund vehicles
- Formulate ideas for hedging macro factor risks
- Monitor and analyze daily and weekly portfolio analytics to inform investment decisions
- Partner with the analytics team to enhance risk and portfolio management processes
- Contribute to economic, market, investment-thesis, and relative-value research and commentary
- Serve as subject-matter expert for the client service and sales team
- Ensure investment activities are conducted in accordance with firm policies, investment guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in asset management or a related field
- Experience trading securitized products
- Experience with options, derivatives, and advanced hedging techniques
- Proficiency with Bloomberg, Intex, and related analytics platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and analytical rigor
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline, with a strong academic record; advanced degree and/or professional designation is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Position is ideally based onsite in our Dallas office.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer while analyzing investments, monitoring markets, and participating in meetings.
- Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, and company events.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, investment research, market data, industry publications, and regulatory materials. Ability to prepare clear and concise investment commentary, research reports, and client communications. Ability to effectively communicate market views, investment recommendations, and portfolio strategies to clients, colleagues, and executive leadership.
