Full Job Description

CSD Engineers, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Project Services to lead and develop a high-performing team of project managers across a broad portfolio of multi-discipline engineering projects. The Director of Project Services will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of project delivery, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering strong client relationships. This individual will oversee projects spanning the firm's core disciplines, including Process/Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical/Instrumentation, and Automation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4–6 project managers, fostering professional growth and accountability.

• Establish and maintain consistent project management standards, processes, and best practices across the department.

• Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and develop career development plans for direct reports.

• Build a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture aligned with the firm's values.

Project Delivery & Oversight

• Oversee the successful delivery of multi-discipline engineering projects from initiation through closeout.

• Monitor project schedules, budgets, scopes, and risks across the project portfolio, implementing corrective actions as needed.

• Coordinate cross-functional efforts among engineering disciplines including Process/Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical/Instrumentation, and Automation.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality standards.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

• Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients, managing expectations and maintaining strong relationships.

• Lead project kick-off meetings, status reviews, and executive-level project briefings.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for scope expansion and repeat business with existing clients.

Strategic & Operational Excellence

• Collaborate with executive leadership to align project services strategy with overall business objectives.

• Develop and monitor departmental KPIs related to project performance, profitability, and client satisfaction.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project delivery methodologies and tools.

• Support business development efforts including proposal preparation, scope development, and fee estimation.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 15 years of applicable engineering project management experience.

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-discipline engineering projects in an EPC or consulting engineering environment.

• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

• Strong understanding of engineering disciplines including Process/Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical/Instrumentation, and Automation.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).

Preferred

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Experience in industrial, oil & gas, chemical, or manufacturing sectors.

• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASME, NEC, OSHA, etc.).

Work Environment

• Office-based with periodic site visits to active project locations.

• Some travel may be required for client meetings, project sites, and industry events.

• Fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment with cross-functional teams.
