The Opportunity In the last 6 months, agentic development has taken off - changing how software is built. We have a clear vision on how to embrace it, and an engineering org already in motion. We need a product leader to take the spark and own the connection with the builders we serve. They will turn it into strategy and keep evolving that strategy as frameworks, tools, and processes change.
Join us in the ABX org, where agentic development is the platform - a managed harness that 15,000 builders at Adobe will use to ship software with AI. Every improvement you will make compounds across engineering, product, and design, on most codebases at Adobe!
This is a build role. You'll develop the strategy, build the organizational framework from the ground up, and set the bar for what agentic development looks like at Adobe.
What you'll ownThe Builders Experience strategy. Take an articulated-but-evolving vision and transform it into written strategy, roadmap, and objective measures of success. Expect it to change continuously as the models, harnesses, and internal processes evolve.
The platform spanning all three modes of agentic development. ABX will serve builders wherever they are on the curve, and make each mode repeatable:
- Agentic Delegation - individual acceleration; the SDLC stays the same, each function just gets faster.
- Agentic Transformation - cross-functional AI pods that compress the SDLC and dissolve role boundaries.
- Agentic Orchestration - ticket-to-PR factories, multi-agent loops, self-healing CI, with customer and SRE signal closing the outer loop.
The objectives and key results (OKRs). Platform adoption per-engineer output per-employee productivity business impact. We start with adoption and build up to the rest.
The relationship with the builders. Deepen trust with the Adobe Builders community, as past decisions on models and tooling created friction. You'll build the engagement mechanisms for a real partnership, and act as chief marketer and evangelist for the platform across the org!
Build vs. buy. Own the decision process for which external models and tools we deploy. Know the latest across the labs, hyperscalers, and open-weights - and make high-conviction calls amid an embarrassment of riches.
Execution. Relentless focus on shipping. Remove bottlenecks, streamline how the team communicates, and automate our own SDLC intelligently - designing the moments where humans stay in the loop so judgment and taste get applied at the junctures that matter.
The operating model. Design how this team runs, in partnership with engineering. It must be agentic itself - we build the system with our system and eat our own dog food. Expect AI pods with real ownership, some led by non-PMs and product-design-engineer (PDE) profiles, not the classic backlog-and-execute approach.
A small PM team. Direct one PM today (who owns external-tool deployment decisions) and grow the org as the mandate expands - setting the hiring bar and the culture as you go.
What you'll bring- Senior PM leadership with a track record of building strategy and teams from scratch
- Technical credibility with builders. The best instinct here is an engineer's instinct for what engineers want - we're building tools for people who like to build their own tools. You don't need to ship production code, but you should read it and reason about it.
- Deep technical fluency in agentic systems: model evaluation and selection, orchestration frameworks, evaluations, inference cost, MCP and the surrounding dev-tooling stack. Comfortable debating latency-vs-accuracy tradeoffs with principal engineers.
- Strategic clarity under ambiguity. The landscape shifts weekly; you will synthesize signal from noise, make high-conviction bets on incomplete information, and adjust course as needed.
- Comfort operating lean and unconventionally - small team, novel AI pods structure, strong bias to action, allergic to process theater and fluff.
- A driver of reinvention - energized by collapsing role boundaries and remaking the SDLC to be AI-first.
What sets you apart- You've led product for a developer or AI platform inside a large engineering org (hundreds to thousands of engineers), and driven adoption of AI-augmented development tooling at scale.
- You're boundary-less - you'll collaborate across Adobe and go where the outcome takes you.
- You can converse across the whole agentic stack: agentic coding, CI/CD, build systems, observability, evaluations, orchestration.
- A technical degree (CS, Math, Engineering, or related) or equivalent experience. We value what you've built over where you studied.
Be ready for- A vision that will change, repeatedly. We optimize for agility over certainty.
- A team that's small by design, with a non-standard operating model you'll co-invent.
- Being both architect and customer of what we build. That reinforcement loop - the system building itself, and getting smarter every time Adobe builds on it - is our MO.
