Full Job Description
Job Title: Director of Occupational Therapy Services

Location: 1405 Shady Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full Time, Onsite

The Director of Occupational Therapy Services maintains primary responsibility for management and administrative oversight of Outpatient and Early Intervention Occupational Therapy services offered at The Children's Institute (CI). The position is responsible for executing and developing training programs that will keep all divisions (Outpatient and Early Intervention Services) of occupational therapy personnel current within developments of the profession.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with all state licensure requirements, regulations, and county contractual obligations; actively supports internal and external auditing activities
  • Participates in professional development and maintains current knowledge of service trends related to occupational therapy initiatives
  • Collaborates with Physical Health leadership team and Accounting in development of annual budget packages; reviews and approves assigned team member business related expenses
  • Monitors and proactively addresses issues or processes that impact the revenue cycle and efficient service delivery pertaining to occupational therapy.
  • Ensures that staffing patterns meet the needs of the organization and families served; monitors team member caseloads and makes effort to maintain balance in assignments; ensuring team members meet productivity targets
  • Evaluates programs/services/ staff on an ongoing basis in order to develop methods of continuous quality improvement including: support provision of orientation and training for new direct service team members; provides supervision and consistent support to identified team members and maintains documentation of supervision activities (inclusive of 1:1 supervision, team meetings, and observations); completes performance appraisals for assigned team members per organizational guidelines; identifies opportunities for staff development and continuing education
  • Represents the organization as an ambassador at relevant external meetings and events to support program area marketing and growth initiatives; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with referral sources and other external stakeholders
