Director of Banquets is a key member of the opening leadership team at The Knox, Auberge Collection, responsible for building and leading an exceptional banquet operation within Dallas's newest ultra-luxury destination. This leader will oversee service across the property's distinctive event venues. From intimate gatherings to luxury weddings and large-scale celebrations, the Director of Banquets will ensure every event is personal, polished, and flawlessly executed.
- Lead the opening and ongoing operation of the Banquets department, including staffing, training, service standards, and operational readiness.
- Recruit, develop, schedule, and inspire a highly skilled banquet leadership and service team.
- Oversee the setup, service, breakdown, and overall execution of weddings, meetings, galas, private dinners, and social events.
- Review banquet event orders, floor plans, menus, timelines, guarantees, and special requests to ensure accuracy and preparedness.
- Partner with Catering, Culinary, Stewarding, Sales, Engineering, Security, and other departments to deliver seamless events.
- Maintain exceptional standards for service, presentation, cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Manage departmental budgets, labor, payroll, operating expenses, inventories, and financial performance.
- Anticipate guest and client needs and resolve concerns promptly, thoughtfully, and discreetly.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, fire, life-safety, and workplace requirements.
Qualifications- Previous banquet leadership experience is required, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, private club, or high-end event venue.
- Minimum of five years of progressive Banquets or Food & Beverage leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading luxury weddings, social events, corporate meetings, and large-scale functions.
- Pre-opening or hotel-opening experience is highly desirable.
- Proven success in team development, financial management, labor planning, and service excellence.
- Strong knowledge of banquet operations, event logistics, food and beverage service, and applicable safety standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Food safety and responsible alcohol service certifications are required or must be obtained within the property's established timeframe.
