You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity's dynamic working arrangement.

The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

How You'll Make an Impact

The Director, IS Transfer Agency and Workflow Systems Development is accountable for the development, modernization, and support of Fidelity Investment Canada Transfer Agency systems (AXIS, NEXUS) and supporting workflow applications.

The successful candidate is a forward-looking technology leader who can articulate and execute leading edge technology solutions, including the practical application of artificial intelligence, to enhance business outcomes and client servicing capabilities.

They are an enterprise thinker with the ability to lead effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, embedding strong engineering practices, disciplined delivery execution, and cybersecurity awareness into how teams operate day to day.

They will leverage their extensive industry and leadership experience to:
  • Lead group of managers and scrum teams responsible for development
  • Manage department budgets, resourcing capacity and vendor relationships
  • Create department strategic plans, technology and process improvement roadmaps and oversees the progress.
  • Incorporate AI, automation, and emerging technologies into strategic roadmaps and execution plans to improve efficiency, scalability, and decision-making
  • Participate in IS division strategic planning and implementation of new technologies and modern solutions, working closely with Information Systems Directors & Managers and Business Partners to align technology services with business goals.
  • Ensure adoption of modern engineering practices (e.g., automation, DevOps, secure-by-design) across teams
  • Oversee and lead continuous improvements of teams' development and production support processes, and tracks the adherence to defined KPIs and department, IS and organizational goals
  • Maintain diligent oversight of project advancements, team's responses to production incidents and expedited requests, and leads his/her teams in excellent communication with all parties


What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 10+ years in an operational role with experience in Transfer Agency and/or Workflows
  • 5+ years in a leadership role within IT or equivalent role in Operations
  • Experience working within the mutual fund industry is a strong asset
  • Experience working with FundServ is an asset

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong management, interpersonal and diplomatic skills required to communicate with senior management across the organization.
  • Excellent Financial industry knowledge, especially for Transfer Agency services
  • Proven knowledge of the development methodology with practical experience in the development life cycle.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, including automation, DevOps, and inclusion of AI in the SDLC.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Strategic planning skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to balance innovation with execution discipline, ensuring new technologies are delivered in a controlled, scalable, and business-aligned manner.
