Hatch continues to build a strong pipeline of major projects and nurture long term relationships with both government and private sector clients, including contractors in the USA. As a
Regional Director, Highways & Bridges in our growing USA Infrastructure business unit, you will be responsible for the establishment and growth of a Highways & Bridges practice in the USA and will be a key member of both our global Highways & Bridges and USA Transportation leadership teams. This position can be based out of our Brooklyn, NY or Seattle, WA offices.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of business growth, have held senior technical or executive leadership positions in consultant or client organizations, and have delivered large multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Market development- Set priorities in collaboration with the Business Unit and Regional Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic direction for one-and five-year business plans in support with Hatch's overall goals.
- Ensure effective key client engagement with the leadership team
- Drive and support business development by winning and delivering projects
- Develop and manage relationships with key partners
- Keep abreast of technology and delivery developments, industry trends and initiatives of competing firms
- Accountable to identify potential mergers and acquisitions for targeted growth areas
- Hold, share, and support the vision for the Business Unit
- Positioning Hatch as a recognized and credible leader.
Leadership Development- Build a vibrant and effective team of leaders aligned with regional plans and collaboration models
- Encourage capability and knowledge development and regional access

Engagements and Operations- Accountable for own area staff's participation in safety initiatives
- Accountable for accuracy project performance and forecasting
- Accountable for engagement governance and intervention and support on problem issues
- Drive use of Digital Project Delivery on all engagements to meet adoption key performance indicator
- Support KPI targets for the Business Unit, including connectivity, utilization, multiplier, margin, volume
- Oversee engagements for commercial, financial, and technical performance
- Support the assignment of staff and/or work amongst regions/practices to optimize staff utilization, support project delivery.
- For key engagements, serve as Project Sponsor and/or participate on engagements steering committee.
Pursuits- Oversee account management
- Setting direction and strategy for contract negotiations in collaboration with regional and global leadership
- Accountable for pricing strategies, including minimizing discounting, engagement of delivery practices and global resourcing
- Support in development of contingencies on fixed price pursuit
- Review and participation in Global Pursuit Reviews (GPRs)
- Initiate and participate in pursuit Win Strategy Review
- Drive collaboration with business practices (advisory, technologies, digital, climate change, environmental) and KPIs with respect to growth on current and future work.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- A minimum 15 years' related experience delivering transportation projects.
- A minimum 10 years' project management experience delivering major transportation infrastructure projects.
- Strong current relationships with US State and Federal transport agencies
- Ability to prepare contracts, scopes of services, fee estimates in accordance with US State DoT standard practices and requirements.
- Technical experience with the ability to mentor and oversee development of our staff.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is necessary.
