The Director leads and directs staff responsible for program design, delivery, marketing coordination, and client account management, and serves as the primary point of contact for corporate clients, prospective participants, and internal stakeholders on executive education matters. The Director reports to Vice Dean of Education, with regular planning coordination with academic program leadership, marketing and communications, and development/corporate relations functions.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Market Positioning
  • Lead strategic planning for the executive education office, setting the vision, brand positioning, and multi-year growth strategy for open-enrollment and custom corporate programming.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of the executive education market, benchmarking program offerings, pricing, and positioning against peer institutions.
  • Collaborate with industry and academic thought leaders to inform program design and ensure offerings reflect current practice in leadership and management education.
  • Set annual and multi-year revenue targets and growth goals for the executive education portfolio in consultation with school leadership.

Program Development & Portfolio Management
  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of open-enrollment and custom executive/corporate education programs, certificates, and non-degree offerings.
  • Partner with faculty to develop new program content, identify subject-matter experts, and ensure academic rigor and currency across the portfolio.
  • Design and implement program assessment and evaluation tools; track participant outcomes, satisfaction, and program performance against benchmarked goals.
  • Oversee the development of participant-facing materials, program logistics standards, and delivery quality across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats.

  • Lead business development efforts to source, cultivate, and close new corporate and organizational clients for custom executive education programs.
  • Collaborate with corporate relations, development/alumni relations, and career services functions to identify and steward relationships with potential and existing corporate partners.
  • Develop and negotiate custom program proposals, contracts, and pricing agreements with corporate clients.
  • Represent the executive education function at industry conferences, professional associations, and relevant awards processes to build market visibility.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Prepare and present financial performance reporting, forecasts, and business cases for new program investment to school leadership.
  • Oversee contracting and vendor relationships related to program delivery, venues, and third-party content or logistics providers.

Staff Management
  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, mentor, and evaluate executive education staff, including any Associate Director(s), Assistant Director(s), or program coordinators.
  • Set and manage team performance expectations; establish metrics to evaluate individual and team performance against portfolio goals.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex client, participant, or program-delivery issues.

Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders
  • Partner with marketing and communications on positioning, campaign development, and market messaging for executive education programs.
  • Liaise with academic program leadership to ensure alignment between degree-program offerings and executive/non-degree programming, avoiding market cannibalization and identifying pipeline opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the registrar, academic technology, and student/participant services functions as needed to support non-degree program administration.
  • Participate in cross-departmental planning and strategy sessions to ensure integration of executive education efforts with broader school initiatives.
