Directeur bilingue en souscription, Responsabilité Civile

Coordonner, surveiller, analyser et évaluer les activités du personnel de souscription pour atteindre les objectifs du département. Production et souscription des différents produits offerts par le service de responsabilité civile. Prendre les décisions appropriées dans les limites de son autorité de souscription, traiter les dossiers soumis par les collaborateurs placés sous sa responsabilité et faire les recommandations appropriées au souscripteur.


Gérer une équipe de souscripteurs, offrir de la formation à ceux qui sont moins expérimentés et veiller à ce que nous respections notre budget et notre stratégie pour les nouvelles affaires. Maximiser la rentabilité (par exemple tarification, conservation, avenants, limite d’assurance, indemnisation) en tenant compte de tous les facteurs inhérents au dossier


  • Production et souscription rentable de nouvelles affaires et de renouvellements.
  • Évaluation des risques et élaboration de solutions de souscription, travailler conjointement avec les actuaires si nécessaire.
  • Révision et analyse des garanties de police et de l’expérience de sinistres.
  • S’assurer que les dossiers sont bien documentés et respectent les normes et protocoles établies.
  • Maintenir la profitabilité du portfolio d’affaire.
  •  Préparer des demandes d’approbation (si nécessaire), préparation de soumissions et confirmation de garanties.
  • Effectuer des activités de marketing, développer  les lignes d’affaire ciblées
  • Gestion des relations d’affaires auprès des courtiers, clients et gestionnaires de risques
  • Développer des solutions avec d'autres divisions sur les nouvelles opportunités d'affaires et de renouvellement.
  • Peut nécessiter des voyages occasionnels pour soutenir les relations d’affaires avec les courtiers et clients.
  •  Travailler avec nos différents centres de service.

  • Scolarité Cégep ou Université un atout
  • Être bilingue (français/anglais); doit pouvoir communiquer efficacement dans les deux langues (à l’écrit et à l’oral).
  • Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite
  • Sens accru de l’organisation, de la gestion du temps, avoir de bonnes qualités de présentateur et de négociateur.
  • Habileté à gérer adéquatement le volume de travail, surtout pendant les périodes très achalandées et lors de délais serrés.
  • Attention soutenue à maintenir une diligence appropriée et le respect de la conformité dans tous les dossiers.

Bilingual Underwriting Manager Casualty



Responsible for coordinating, monitoring, analyzing and evaluating the activities of the underwriting staff to achieve department goals. Underwrite and assess risk for all casualty products.  Make appropriate decisions within own underwriting authority, handle underwriting referrals from direct reports and make appropriate recommendations to referral Underwriter.


Manage a team of underwriters, provide training to less experienced underwriters. Make sure that we are align with our plan and NB business strategy. Responsible for underwriting and considering different approaches toward risks to maximize profitability (e.g., pricing, retention, endorsements, limits, indemnity, and security) by considering all factors related to the account.

 

What you need to know:

  • Production and underwriting of profitable new and renewal business.
  • Complete rating tool, apply risk judgment, and work with actuaries if required.
  • Review of policy coverage, claims experience and deal structure analysis.
  • Ensure files are well documented and comply with corporate standards.
  • Maintain profitability of book of business.
  • Prepare referrals (when required), quote letters and bind letters.
  • Perform marketing activities, grow target business 
  • Relationship management including servicing of brokers, clients and risk managers
  • Develop underwriting solutions with other divisions on new business and renewal opportunities
  • May require occasional travel to support broker and client relationship
  • Work with center of excellence and / or shared services on policy administration.
  • Resolve accounting inquiries, month end verification in liaison with center of excellence and shared services on premium coding
  • Assist claims department with requests on file documentation.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage work load effectively, especially during times of high activity and tight time lines
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team oriented approach to accomplish branch results
